The Stanley Story

Panelized Homes was started by Ellsworth Stanley with his son in hand, circa 1950. The company
specialized in building new custom built homes. Ellsworth was a visionary and an
innovator.
The 1st Trussed House: The company built the first Roof Trussed house in Sandusky - unfortunately the construction was stopped by city inspectors because they were not aware of Truss construction. Fortunately, they learned, approved the project and a new concept was introduced to the area.
The 1st Prefab House: The company then began building houses in panels in their shop, delivering the wall systems to the job site in Apel Lumber Company trucks (company owned by Ellsworth's brother-in-law). This process allowed the company to complete construction in record breaking speed.
Richard (Son of Ellsworth) took over the business in 1973 and continued building custom houses. Richard began new wings of the company focusing on remodeling and commercial development. He built Pine Crest Apartments in Sandusky. Richard stressed zero tolerance and built a reputation for quality construction.
Chief Dan George (Son of Richard) joined the company in 1976. Some call him Dan ... Some call him George ... all call him Chief since he became a force in 1990. George is now the President and has put his own stamp on the company by maintaining the new construction, remodeling and additions business while expanding the company's offerings with the newest and most cost effective products and methods. The company now boasts a reputation as one of the areas premier Kitchen & Bath Specialists. Along the way, they rebuilt their showroom to display their fine line of Kitchen & Bath products and utilize their own Wood Working Mill (see more info at the Millwork link).
George attended Perkins High School and has lived in the community all his life. He is characterized by the words " Honesty, Integrity, Value, Craftsmanship". George leads the company into the 21st Century with a "Finish the Job Attitude". The 4th Generation of Stanleys is preparing themselves: Adam & Nicole are learning the business from the ground floor up.
